About 640 pigs were lost in a massive barn fire that destroyed the structure at a farm near Goderich early Saturday
Fire crews from at least four departments called to the property at Auburn after a passerby notified officials around 2 a.m. But the barn was engulfed with firefighters arrived and nothing could be done to save the animals.
Blyth, Wingham, Lucknow and Goderich fire departments were on all scene
Damage is expected to exceed $1 million.
The Fire Marshal's Office has been called in, although the fire is not deemed suspicious.
