Many are still displaced following the fatal high-rise apartment fire on Walnut Street, Oct. 10.
An official cause hasn't been released and neither has the identity of the man killed in last Thursday's blaze, however there is new information regarding the incident.
We are beginning to learn more about the man who lived inside the apartment.
Several residents have alleged that the man was suicidal, and made it known that he wanted to end his life.
But resident Nick Perry is just grateful to have his life.
From the 12th floor, Perry would descend nine flights of stairs and then hit a wall of smoke on the third.
He fought his way to the second floor and saw something he fears will never leave him.
"There were three firefighters, dragging a poor fellow. He was not breathing. His face was absolutely scorched," says Perry.
Perry says a firefighter then grabbed him -- and a friend -- and got them both to safety.
The heaviest damage was to a second floor unit.
But investigators have yet to comment. on where the fire started, or what caused it.
The blaze left one person is dead, and at least two others continue to fight for their lives.
A possible aid in the investigation may be cameras that are placed on every floor of the affordable housing high-rise.
But Perry doesn't need a camera to relive the horror of last Thursday.
"I may never take the stairs, down to the second floor again. It's been very traumatic," says Perry.
