St. Thomas police say the man found dead on Christmas Day is 36-year-old Danny DiGiandomenico.
A post mortem examination on Saturday determined the cause of death to be "sharp force trauma."
Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident as a suspicious death.
DiGiandomenico was found dead in his Talbot St. apartment around 7 p.m. on Dec. 25.
The Criminal Investigations Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit are continuing the investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or the St. Thomas City Police Service.
Police say the family "has requested privacy while they grieve the loss of a family member."
DiGiandomenico was the owner and operator of the Upper Deck Restaurant and graduated from St. Joseph's High School.
