A 30-year-old man was arrested after St. Thomas police say a store clerk was stabbed several times in the face and chest area during a convenience store robbery.
Timothy Scott Smith, of St. Thomas, was charged with one count of robbery, one count of aggravated assault, one count of wearing a disguise.
Police say it happened on Wednesday at 10:02 p.m.
A man armed with a knife entered Moe’s Variety located at 808 Talbot Street in the St. Thomas. According to police, the man demanded money from the store clerk and an altercation ensued.
The store clerk suffered stab wounds to the face and chest area and was transported to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and eventually to taken to Victoria Hospital in London with non-life threatening injuries.
