LONDON, Ont. - Police made three arrests and reported up to $1,000 in damage after a large protest outside London's city hall.

More than 100 people gathered on the building's steps at around 8 p.m. Wednesday as part of the so-called global "Million Mask March."

The gatherings are held every Nov. 5 in cities around the world to protest against social and economic inequalities.

Many of those involved in Wednesday night's demonstration were wearing Guy Fawkes masks, made popular by the movie "V for Vendetta".

No injuries were reported but police say about $1,000 in damage was caused by someone who scrawled obscenities and political messages on a marble pillar outside city hall.

Police have yet to identify the three people arrested or what charges they may be facing.
