Assault suspect in custody, police believe there may be additional victims

A London man is facing multiple charges after allegedly obtaining sexual services and assaulting a woman earlier this year in a south end hotel room.
According to the London Police Service, on Feb. 25, 2024 a woman was contacted in relation to sexual services that she advertised online. A suspect male agreed to meet the woman at a hotel located in the 1100-block of Wellington Road.
A dispute arose between the two and the woman called another woman to help remove the man from the room.
Police said when the woman arrived at the room to help, the man physically assaulted her.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Both women contacted London police, and members of the Human Trafficking Unit began an investigation.
Over the course of the investigation, a male suspect was positively identified.
In an update on Friday, police said the suspect was arrested at a residence in the area of Wonderland Road South and Commissioners Road West on May 6, 2024.
Members of the Human Trafficking Unit executed a search warrant at the residence and the following items were seized:
- 81.1g of cocaine — approximate value of $8,100
- 28 oxycodone pills — approximate value of $140
- Four x 3mg hydromorphone capsules — approximate value of $20
- $315 of Canadian currency
- Three cellphones
As a result of the investigation, Dylan Barclay Broadbent, 31, of London, has been charged with the following offences:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Obtain sexual services for consideration
He has additionally been charged by way of warrant of arrest with the following offences:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Two (2) counts of possession of a schedule I substance
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to re-appear in London court on May 28 in relation to the charges.
Police believe there may be additional victims, and have released a photo of the accused. Members of the public are encouraged to contact London police if they have any information in relation to the investigation, or if they had similar dealings with the accused.
