Lawyer Michael Lamb has received this year’s Brian Young Award for his work in addressing elder abuse.
The award is given out by London police in honour of Insp. Brian Young, who was committed to ending abuse and neglect of older adults. The award was founded in 2008.
Lamb has been an advocate for seniors and has been instrumental in ensuring that the rights of older adults are understood and upheld. He has given presentations on abuse to seniors, service providers, church groups, retirement homes and London police detectives.
Unlike other lawyers, Lamb makes out of office calls to seniors who are unable to reach his office due to disabilities or the lack of transportation.
Lamb will accept his award on Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Centre.
