Following a soggy number of days, a flood watch has been issued by the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority Monday.

Heavy rainfall in the Saugeen Watershed has resulted in rapidly rising river and stream levels.

Up to 38 mm of rain has fallen so far and there is more on the way into Monday evening.

Ground conditions are saturated from precipitation from the previous week.

The runoff is causing flooding in the traditional low lying flood plain areas.

The public is being asked to stay away from rivers and streams, as banks can be very unstable.
