A Brampton Ont. man has been charged with first degree murder following a weekend truck fire on Highway 402 in Lambton County.

Emergency crews were called to the westbound lanes of the 402 near the near the Camlachie Road overpass on Sunday around 3:15 a.m.

Police say the truck was engulfed in flames.

One man was able to safely get out of the truck, but another person couldn't be rescued.

The body of Gurpreet K. Brar, 37, of Brampton was discovered inside the vehicle.

The victim's remains were sent to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Services in Toronto for further examination.

As a result of the investigation, the OPP has charged Sukhchain Singh Brar, 50, also from Brampton with first degree murder.

He will appear in a Sarnia court on Thursday to answer to the charge.
