As of Friday afternoon, most of London has been spared from the snow squalls seen in parts north and east of the city.

Residents in the east portion of the city woke up to snow covered side roads and cars, but a short drive south and west and the rest of the city is bare.

However Environment Canada says that could still change.

The weather agency is calling for 15-25cm of snow for London today and a snow squall warning remains in effect.

As of 6:30 a.m. Goderich through Exeter has seen the worst of the squalls. Buses are Cancelled today in Oxford County but are running in Middlesex, London, and Elgin.

There are bus cancellations as well in Huron-Perth. Affected runs can be found here.

On Thursday afternoon, Environment Canada issued a snow squall warning for London-Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, Lambton, Huron-Perth, Grey and Bruce Counties.

Warnings remain in place for Middlesex, Huron-Perth and Oxford, for Elgin and Lambton it has been changed to a watch.

Residents in these areas can expect near zero visibility if snow squalls persist.

Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while driving.
