Theatre goers can now catch a bus in Detroit for the 2014 Stratford Festival season.

For $40, theatre goers can take a luxury bus ride from Detroit to Stratford starting June 3. Buses leave promptly at 8 a.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. A return bus leaves at 5 p.m. on those same days.

Stratford Festival executive director Anita Gaffney says Michigan is home to the festivals biggest American audience.

“Last year we introduced a twice-daily bus from Toronto,” says Gaffney. “It was such a success that it prompted us to offer the service in Detroit, which is home to our biggest U.S. audience.”

The bus ride itself is about a three hour drive. Theatre tickets are required to book a seat on the bus, which must be booked online in advance.

Theatre tickets go on sale to members of the Stratford Festival on Nov. 11, and to the general public on Jan. 4, 2014.
