A new business is budding in London.

A medicinal marijuana shop called "Tasty Buds" has opened on Wharncliffe Road South.  And though it's not the first of its kind in the city, it's creating a bit of a buzz.

According to owner Tim Balogh, "We feel like we've went the proper route and we're open for business."

Walk in and you instantly know what this company is selling, medicinal marihuana in many forms including buds, gummies and even pop.

Balogh says the establishment, which opened up Friday, expects to serve 2,000 clients, "We're very tight, we have a lot of paperwork to follow.  We're not just serving people off the street.  It's the medical patients with prescriptions or medical cards. We're calling doctors to verify that everything's legitimate."

Many neighbours admit they didn’t know the new operation had moved in, but say they don’t have a problem with it.

Henry Masek is one of those neighbours, "I look at it as similar to the reaction I had when the addiction treatment centre opened up by the Dairy Queen.  There was apprehension to start with, because you don't know if there's going to be a lot of traffic there or people hanging around outside.  And none of that proved true for the addictions treatment centre. And I imagine it's going to be the same for this facility around the corner."

While London Police weren't available for comment on Saturday, Balogh says they aren't doing anything illegal and would even be willing to give police a tour, "We're happy to show them in, show them exactly what we're doing. We're proud of it and don't believe we're doing anything wrong."
