The driver involved in the fail-to-remain crash that killed 27-year-old Jordan Moorehead has contacted police.

Huron County OPP say the driver, whose name has not been released, has been identified and he has spoken to investigators. The vehicle has also been inspected.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Investigators say they are looking for more information and evidence before deciding if charges will be laid, and if so, what the charges would be. The name of the driver won’t be released until that decision has been made.

Moorehead died in hospital a day after he was struck by a westbound utility truck on Monday evening while walking west on Amberley Road, just east of Bluevale.

Family and friend say he had likely run out of gas and was walking home and his truck was reportedly found about eight kilometres from where the crash happened.

Provincial police say the investigation into the collision continues, and while they are thanking the public for help, they are still looking to speak to anyone who may have information about the collision.
