Huron County OPP are currently investigating a fail-to-remain collision involving a male pedestrian on Monday evening.
Police say they were called to the scene on Amberley Road near Ramsay Line, just east of Bluevale, around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Upon arrival officers located an unresponsive male that was found lying on the shoulder of the roadway.
The injured male was transported to hospital in London by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the male is believed to have been walking westbound when he was struck.
They have located glass and a passenger-side mirror at the collision scene from the suspect vehicle, believed to be a heavy-duty pickup or utility truck.
Anyone with information on the vehicle or driver that may have been involved is asked to contact Huron County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 519-524-1074.
Police are especially asking anyone in the auto body repair industry to contact them if they have seen a vehicle like the one described with a missing passenger side mirror assembly.
OPP Staff-Sgt. Jason Younan said in a statement, "We continue to investigate this collision and are asking the driver responsible to do the right thing and turn themselves into police. We’re resolved to finding the person responsible for not stopping to render assistance and leaving the scene.”
The roadway was closed for the investigation but has since re-opened.
