There’s a call for a bylaw to deal with the problem of abandoned shopping carts in London.
Councillor Stephen Orser was successful in getting the Community and Protective Services Committee to recommend staff investigate ways to control carts that find their way off of store property.
Some expressed concerns that any new rules shouldn't unfairly target low income Londoners who require carts to get groceries home.
Staff will look at the entire issue, including similar bylaws in other cities and bring forward a report later this year.
