One person was taken to hospital after a fiery crash on Highway 401 Monday night.

OPP and the Dutton/Dunwich Fire Department responded to the scene near mile marker 142 between Currie Road and Iona Road, at 10:05 p.m. after the vehicle left the roadway, landed in the centre median and caught fire.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was able to get out the passenger door before the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

The driver was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
