Police are searching for the owner of a dog after a female pedestrian was bitten on the chin Saturday afternoon.

They say the 49-year-old woman was walking west on Oxford Street near Cherryhill Boulevard when a male approached with a dog on a leash.

As they were passing the female, the dog lunged at her and bit her on the chin.

The male continued on without any conversation with the female and was last seen in front of Cherryhill Mall. The woman went to the hospital and had minor injuries.

The male is described as white, in his 20s, 5'5" with a slim build. He has short blonde hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He was carrying a guitar.

The dog is described as a muscular pitbull-type, reddish brown in colour.

Police are requesting the handler of the dog to come forward to provide vaccination records.
