Western University's fundraising campaign for the United Way of London & Middlesex has raised $717,858.

The addition of the 2015 total brings the school's contributions to the local United Way to nearly $11 million since it first began organized campaigns in the 1990s.

While it didn't top it's largest annual total, the 2013 campaign that raised over $785,000, it remains a significant contribution.

In a statement, Andrew Lockie, CEO of the United Way London & Middlesex, said, "Western University's faculty, staff, retirees and students continue to demonstrate, year after year, what it means to be partners in creating lasting change in London and Middlesex County."

The focus of the campa ign was 'Growing Stronger Together,' aimed at helping staff, faculty, students and retirees "understand how critical their United Way support is in helping to nurture a caring and supportive community."

The Western community supported the campaign by volunteering at special events, climbing stairs and donating through payroll deduction.
