Students stage walkout following sexual assault allegations

About 50 female students at East Elgin Secondary School took part in a walkout and rally in front of the school on Wednesday morning. The concerns stem, in part, from the handling of a male student who is now facing a number of sexual assault charges, and students are asking school administration to address their safety concerns.

Case of man who defrauded Canada Post still a mystery

For the second week in a row the case of a man who defrauded Canada Post of more than $234,000 has been put over to another date as the court tries to determine whether Allan Fischer, 59, has passed away. Crown Attorney Adam Campbell told the court that the RCMP continue to look into whether he has died or not.

Railway-themed mini golf course opens inside St. Thomas, Ont. mall

You can putt through a replica of the CASO Station, or play alongside Jumbo the elephant in St. Thomas’ newest attraction. Railway 1856 Ultimate Mini-Golf is a course which winds through Elgin Centre and pays homage to the city’s railway history, and its grand opening is set for this weekend.

London, Ont. ranks highly on environmental scorecard: Report

The report examined 30 cities across Canada with a population of than 100,000 people and analyzed environmental factors such as air quality, noise pollution, water quality, risk of natural disasters and access to green space.

New report projects London population to hit 500,000 this decade

A consultant’s report projecting London’s population, employment, and housing growth over upcoming three decades (2021-2051) is going to the Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee meeting on Dec. 6. The report will help guide municipal decision making to ensure municipal decisions take growth estimates into consideration.
