Grey County OPP have arrested a wanted male after an officer on patrol spotted a stolen vehicle and on Thursday afternoon.
Officials say the officer was on 7th Line in Melancthon Township shortly before 1 p.m. when he noticed a red Ford Expplorer that had been reported stolen.
The driver ignored the cruiser's emergency lights and pulled into a driveway where he stopped the vehicle and fled into a wooded area.
The West Region emergency responce and K9 teams were called in to assist and the male was located in a barn on a Grey Road 9 property.
As a result, 33-year-old Kevin Barbosa of Melanchton Township is facing charges including:
- flight from police
- drive while disqualified
- possession of stolen property over $5,000
- two counts of possess a controlled substance
- fail to comply with probation
He was held in custody pending the results of a show cause hearing scheduled for Friday.
