Two in custody, two outstanding in jewellery store robbery at White Oaks Mall

Two men are in custody after a jewellery store robbery in London on Thursday evening.

At roughly 8:10 p.m., police say that four masked men entered White Oaks Mall armed with hammers. They smashed display cases and stole jewellery.

Two of the suspects attempted to flee on foot and were arrested. The other two fled in a vehicle.

Jewellery was found on the arrested suspects, and there were no reported injuries.

A 28-year-old from Ottawa, and 28-year-old from Toronto have been charged with armed robbery, and disguise with intent.

A similar incident on Tuesday saw four suspects attempt to gain entry to a store in the 400-block of Wharncliffe Road South, unsuccessful, they fled the scene.

London police say that presently, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the two incidents are connected. Both invesitgations are active and ongoing at this time.

Anyone with information on either incident, or that may posess video footage of the area is asked to contact police.
