London police are investigating an attempted robbery in the southwest end of the city on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, at roughly 4:15 p.m., four men arrived in a white SUV, and entered a jewellery store in the 400-block Wharncliffe Road South.

The men were wearing dark clothes and masks, and tried to break into the store, damaging the window.

They were unsuccessful in their attempt and fled the area in the SUV.

Police arrived on scene. Roughly an hour later the vehicle was spotted driving dangerously near Tillsonburg, where it fled from police.

Although there were no reported injuries, the business did receive roughly $10,000 in damages.

Investigators are appealing to the public who may have been in the area and have dashcam or surveillance footage to contact them.
