Provincial police are investigating a fatal crash northeast of Tillsonburg just hours after a multi-vehicle crash snarled traffic in the downtown area.
The Oxford County OPP says the fatal collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Oxford Road 13 near Cornell Road.
That’s when a southbound passenger van collided head on with a northbound Jeep. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.
The five passengers in the van, as well as the driver and a passenger in the Jeep were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All involved were adults.
Oxford Road 13 has been closed from the community of Springford to Cornell Road and Ninth Road is closed from Zenda Line to Middletown Line for the police investigation.
It’s unclear when the routes will reopen.
