Middlesex OPP officers are crediting two recent traffic stops with leading them to separate drug seizures.

Police pulled over a 21-year-old Chatham man for a traffic stop involving the use of a cell phone on Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. at Highway 401 at Colonel Talbot Road.

Officers say during the course of the traffic stop they found a quantity of drugs.

The driver was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine and possession of a schedule II substance – cannabis marijuana, under 30 grams.

He was released from police custody and scheduled to appear in a London courtroom on Nov. 22.

Police also charged a 19-year-old male from Tillsonburg with possession for the purpose of trafficking on Monday. Officers say they pulled him over for a traffic offence on Highway 401 at Dorchester Road.

The charges against the Chatham man were eventually withdrawn in April 2015.
