Sarnia police officers are asking for the public’s help finding a man who allegedly stole $400 in clothing.
The incident took place Jan. 20 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m at a store on Quinn Drive in Sarnia.
Police say the man placed several garments into a black and purple duffel bag and left the store with the items, without paying for them.
The man walked to a second location and asked two witnesses for the location of the washroom.
He entered the washroom, climbed on top of a toilet and placed the duffel bag containing the stolen merchandise in the ceiling after removing some tiles, according to police.
The suspect is described as 5’8” to 5’10”, around 30 years old, with short, dark brown hair and a solid build. He was wearing a grey sweater, dark camouflage pants and dark shoes.
Forensic investigators are processing a toque and duffel bag he left behind.
