Young woman kidnapped from her Sarnia home, held against her will
A young woman in Sarnia was kidnapped and threatened with an axe following a violent break and enter in the city on Friday.
Police say that they were called to a residence on Friday at around 1:00 p.m. after a young woman had walked up to the front door in the area of Confederation and Stuart Streets. The 22-year-old was not dressed for the weather, and had frantically approached the home indicating that she had been kidnapped.
Investigation revealed that two men and a woman had entered the victim’s home with one of them carrying an axe. The victim was then assaulted and taken to a waiting vehicle where she was held against her will and continued to be assaulted.
After some time, the suspects decided to let her go, and pushed the victim from the vehicle,.
Police were able to arrest one person involved at a residence on Brock Street. There the vehicle used in the kidnapping was also discovered. A 30-year-old from Petrolia has been held and charged with kidnapping and break and enter.
The investigation is ongoing, however police believe that the incident was targeted and there is no threat to public safety.
