A woman whose vehicle slid off a Highway 402 westbound ramp is lucky to only have minor injuries, police say.

The woman’s vehicle rolled several times into a north ditch near Colonel Talbot Road Monday morning about 8 a.m.

Extrication equipment was needed to free her.

Const. Kevin Howe of the Middlesex OPP says the guardrail prevented more major injuries.

“The vehicle struck the edge of the barrier. It slowed the vehicle down. We could have had more serious injuries.”

Howe said the vehicle had extensive damage.

The ramp at Colonel Talbot Road was closed for two hours for cleanup.
