Canadian race car driver Paul Tracy will be honoured this week Fanshawe College with an honorary diploma.

Tracy raced in the Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) and IndyCar Series from 1991 to 2007, starting 281 races and winning 31 times.

“Paul is a person whose life matches the very spirit Fanshawe represents,” said Fanshawe President Peter Devlin in a news release.

“Paul has always been bold, decisive and successful in his life and he continues to transform himself to this day. From race car driver to business owner and TV personality, Paul has looked for new challenges and met them with courage. We are proud to have him join the Fanshawe family.”

Tracy will receive his honorary diploma Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Progress Building at the Western Fair District.
