Provincial police say three protected habitats erected along Highway 6 in the northern Bruce Peninsula have been damaged.
Police say someone used a chainsaw to cut down the habitats, which had been put up by the province for barn swallows as part of a protected species project.
Investigators say the cost of each of the protected habitats is $10,000, adding that an additional $16,000 in damage was done.
Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between March 5th and 6th to contact investigators.
