Two Ingersoll residents have been charged iin connection with a hit and run Friday evening that left a 10-year-old boy in critical condition.
Toby and Rebecca Van Lieshout have been charged with numerous offences.
Police say the boy remains in critical condition after being struck while riding his bicycle by Wexford Avenue. Police were given a description of the vehicle and had been searching for it. They were able to locate the vehicle and make the arrests.
Toby Van Lieshout, 34, is charged with:
- Leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily harm
- Possession of a schedule II substance
- Driving while under suspension
- Careless driving
- Using plate not authorized for vehicle
Rebecca Van Lieshout, 39, is charged with:
- Accessory after the fact
- Assaulting peace officer
- Possession of a schedule II substance
- Permiting unlicensed person to drive motor vehicle
- No vehicle insurance, permit
