TORONTO - NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is keeping her foot on the accelerator when it comes to cutting auto insurance premiums.

She says if she doesn't get a 15 per cent cut to premiums -- as well as other items on her list of demands -- the province could face a spring election.

Horwath met Friday with representatives from the insurance industry, who say fraud is what's driving up premiums.

But Horwath is adamant that the Liberals need to cut auto insurance premiums by 15 per cent now.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says she thinks tackling insurance fraud is the best way to go and the savings should be applied to premiums.

She says she wants to work with the opposition parties, but if they decide they want an election, she's prepared to go to the polls.
