Memorial service to be held for Western student killed by alleged impaired driver

A memorial is being held Sunday at Western University for a first-year student who died in October after being struck by an alleged impaired driver.
Students will gather at 1 p.m. in the Mustang Lounge at the University Community Centre to remember 18-year-old Andrea Christidis.
London police have upgraded charges against the driver involved in a crash on the Western University campus that killed 18-year-old Andrea Christidis.
Christidis died two days after being struck by a car while walking on Lambton Drive, south of University Drive, on the night of Oct. 7.
Police say a northbound vehicle lost control, jumped the curb and struck Christidis, who was walking on the sidewalk.
As a result of her death, Jared Dejong, 24, is charged with impaired driving causing death, operate motor vehicle over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
