Sarnia police have arrested a man wanted for what they called a violent neighbour dispute.

Llewellyn Alexander Greenbird, 33, is facing numerous charges including two counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a firearm and ammunition while prohibited and breach of probation.

Police say after a physical dispute last Wednesday, Greenbird returned to his neighbour’s home on Fairview Place with a handgun.

They say he fled the scene in his neighbour’s van, which was abandoned outside of Wallaceburg after a pursuit with police. The pursuit was called off in the interest of public safety as they approached Wallaceburg.

Police also found the handgun inside the van.

Greenbird was arrested Friday and is awaiting a bail hearing.
