The London Police Service says citizens shouldn't be concerned if they see a high volume of officers around the city.
Police officers were conducting training scenarios in various locations throughout the day Thursday.
Locations includee the area of the Thames River between Clarke Road and Highbury Avenue, and an area between the Thames River and Fanshawe Park Road on land east of Highbury Avenue.
Officers could be seen combing a wooded lot as they searched for two fictitious missing teen girls and the male suspect they believe had abducted them.
The training session continues for a week and they are being conducted twice a year, in the spring and fall.
The idea is to help officers with both abduction cases and disappearances like those that involve Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
