Many London motorists, cyclists and pedestrians were slapped with tickets in the downtown London area on Tuesday.

Police officers handed out 102 tickets during a safety initiative in the core.

London police Sgt. Ryan Scrivens says "With the onset of the warmer weather we've got a lot more cyclists, we've got a lot more pedestrians out on the road in conjunction with the normal vehicular traffic we have downtown. When you put all those together there's always a potential propensity for collisions."

The offence notices were issued to motorists who made illegal turns, cyclists who rode their bikes on the sidewalks and pedestrians who violated the light signals at controlled intersections.

Police want to remind everyone to do their part to help keep our roads safe and prevent any needless collisions.
