The London area appears to have split along urban-rural lines between Liberal red and Conservative blue, with just one urban seat going to the NDP.
Liberal Kate Young has unseated Conservative Ed Holder in London West. Holder was seeking a third term representing the riding.
He Tweeted shortly after his defeat, "Thank you #ldnont. It has been a true privilege to serve. This is not the end merely a new beginning."
He added, "Congratulations to @VoteKateYoung A long campaign and a new beginning for London West."
Meanwhile Liberal Peter Fragiskatos has unseated one-term Conservative Susan Truppe in London London North Centre.
The only NDP MP in the London region, Irene Mathyssen, has held the London Fanshawe riding for a fourth term against Liberal Khalil Ramal and Conservative Suzanna Dieleman.
Rural ridings stay blue
Outside of the limits of the Forest City it was a very different picture, with Conservatives holding all eight of their traditional seats in the region.
Conservative Karen Vecchio was elected in Elgin-Middlesex-London. She takes the reigns from former Conservative MP Joe Preston, who recently retired after 10 years as MP.
Conservative Bev Shipley has been re-elected in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, and this will mark his fourth term representing the riding.
Also re-elected is Conservative Ben Lobb in the Huron-Bruce riding for a third term.
In Oxford, Conservative Dave MacKenzie, who has held the riding since 2004, was re-elected.
Conservative candidate Marilyn Gladu has been elected in Sarnia-Lambton. She follows three-term Conservative Pat Davidson who chose not to run again in 2015.
In Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, incumbent Larry Miller returns for a fourth term.
In Perth Wellington, Conservative John Nater was elected. Tory Gary Schellenberger, who did not run again, won the riding by a landslide in 2011 with more than double his nearest competitor.
And in Haldimand-Norfolk, veteran incumbent Conservative Diane Finley won a fifth term.
