TORONTO - Ontario's police chief confirmed that hard drives from government computers were seized as part of a search of an unnamed facility last week.
OPP Commissioner Chris Lewis says it was part of the criminal investigation into the deletion of emails on two cancelled gas plants in Oakville and Mississauga.
But he says he can't say whether a criminal act occurred or whether any charges will be laid.
The police also visited Premier Kathleen Wynne's office last November, which Lewis says was with her staff's full co-operation.
Police launched a criminal probe last June after the Conservatives complained that gas plant emails were intentionally deleted by senior staff in former premier Dalton McGuinty's office.
The Tories say the police raid shows the Liberals are corrupt.
