Fatal crash near Wardsville, Ont.
A stretch of road near Wardsville, Ont. has reopened after a fatal crash on Wednesday.
First responders were dispatched to the interesection of Longwoods Road and Pratt Siding Road for a serious collision involving a tanker truck and a passenger vehicle.
According to police, the lone occupant of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the collision.
"I do know that as a result of the collision one involved individual was confirmed deceased at scene. There were no other injuries confirmed," said OPP Const. Jeff Hare.
Ornge Air Ambulance was initially called but weaved off minutes before landing.
Hare added that the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team will be assisting in the investigation, but the investigation is still in its early stages.
"The weather conditions at the time were similar to now, the wind was picking up, it was overcast, as you can see the roads were clear and dry behind me. They were at the time as well," Hare added.
