The London region remains under a cold weather alert Monday.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning affecting most of southern Ontario.
A prolonged period of cold wind chills is expected.
Northwesterly winds will combine with possibly record setting cold temperatures to produce extreme wind chills in the -30 to -40 range.
Anyone planning to be outdoors should dress appropriately and exercise caution as exposed skin may freeze in as little as 10 minutes.
The frigis temperatures will arrive Sunday night.
Wind chills will slowly improve somewhat Monday afternoon as temperatures moderate.
