The driver of a pickup truck involved in a crash that killed a 16-year-old motorcycle rider has been charged with careless driving.
Arnold VanMoorsel, 77, of West Perth was charged Thursday, a day after the crash that killed Jeremy Wickenheiser of Perth East.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Line 40 and Road 110 near the Stratford Municipal Airport.
Police say an investigation showed Wickenheiser was eastbound on Line 40 when his Honda R5A motorcycle struck VanMoorsel's GMC Sierra pickup, which was southbound on Road 110.
Road 110 is controlled by stop signs in both directions at Line 40.
Wickenheiser was pronounced dead at the scene, while VanMoorsel was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Stratford in July.
