A life-long friend of Christopher Gale took the stand at his second-degree murder trial as testimony continued on Wednesday.
Gale is accused in the shooting death of his girlfriend, 21-year-old Jocelyn Bishop in July 2010. He has pleaded not guilty.
Justin Darlington told the court Gale once talked about shooting and burying his girlfriend, and that no one would come looking for her.
He added that Gale and Bishop had a fight and he thought the accused was just blowing off steam.
Darlington was the Crown’s last witness. The defence then began by calling their own blood stain analyst.
On Tuesday, the gunshot wound that killed Bishop was the focus of testimony by Dr. Elena Tugaleva.
The pathologist told the jury that the wound suffered by Bishop didn’t show the characteristics of a self-inflicted wound, but that it also couldn’t be ruled out.
Earlier in the week the jury heard that blood spatter was found inside the home Bishop and Gale shared on the floor, a desk and a computer.
Bishop’s body was found wrapped in a tarp and garbage bags, buried in a shallow grave behind the Fanshawe Park Road home.
Testimony resumes on Thursday and Gale is expected to take the stand before the trial is complete.
