Hundreds of people gathered in London Friday to send a message to Ontario's provincial government to end cuts to local hospitals.

The Ontario Health Coalition says the province is in a systemic crisis when it comes to health care.

About 200 people gathered to demand an end to health care cuts outside MPP Deb Matthews' office on PIccadilly Street Friday afternoon.

Demonstrators also planned to release hundreds of red balloons signed with messages directed at Matthews and the Liberal government.

The group says hospital departments such as vascular cardiology, mental health, intensive care, oncology, stroke rehabilitation, and others are being cut at St. Joseph's and London Health Sciences Centre.

London's hospitals are reportedly looking to make $32 million in cuts this year.
