Six kittens found abandoned in a box at a London clothing donation bin in September are now ready for adoption.

The London Humane Society says that after three weeks of care, the members of the litter are ready to find their forever homes.

A Good Samaritan found the kittens in a cardboard box at a Goodwill donation bin. The box has been taped closed, had few air holes, no available water and was marked, 'Free to a Good Home.'

It's unclear how long the then eight-week-old kittens were left in the box - or how much longer they would have survived - when it was discovered around 7 a.m. on Sept. 17.

One in the humane society's care, the kittens were fashionably named Levi, Armani, Prada, Chanel, Versace and Diesel.

Judy Foster, London Humane Society executive director, said in a statement there is no need for animals to be abandoned in this way.

“We are here for the community when they are overwhelmed and unable to care for their pets...We do ask for a nominal surrender fee for these animals as we operate solely on the basis of donations, however we are willing to accommodate individuals who are facing financial hardships.”

She added, “It’s always hard to see cases like this, but it’s incredibly heartwarming to see these kittens grow and flourish."

And fortunately the humane society says there has been an increase adoptions this year, with 141 animals re-homed in September.
