London Hydro crews were called into action after a fire caused a power outage in the downtown core.
Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning police responded to the area of York Street and Richmond Street after receiving reports that flames were coming up through the manholes.
A shorted power line and/or transformer underground within the sewer system is to blame for the fire.
Power was restored shortly after noon on Sunday.
