A poultry barn burned down in Zorra Township Sunday evening, killing thousands of chickens trapped inside.

Oxford County OPP and fire crews responded to a report of a fire at a poultry farm on 45th Line around 6:30 p.m.

Crews from four fire stations attended the blaze but the barn was destroyed, and 22,000 chickens died in the fire.

There were no injuries to any people reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but it is not believed to be suspicious.
