Three people were taken to Woodstock hospital with smoke inhalation following a grease fire in a kitchen Sunday afternoon.
Fire Cpt. Robert Tabor said one man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, also had third-degree burns to his feet and a hand.
The fire in the home at Light Street in Woodstock caused about $5,000 damage.
A neighbour and the occupants used pillows and shoes to contain the fire.
Tabor said everyone will be OK.
"It could have been a lot worse," he said.
