Unionized workers from across the Western University campus will meet Thursday in a bid to get answers following the disclosure the school's president received nearly $1 million in salary.
The meeting comes as university faculty voted 94 per cent in favour of a motion of non-confidence in President Amit Chakma and board of governors chairperson Chirag Shah.
An online petition of non-confidence has grown to nearly 6,000 signatures.
Faculty association president Alison Hearn says the employees are united in seeking serious changes in how the university is governed.
“Staff, students and faculty are tired of the tone deaf and disconnected leadership from the Board and president’s office,” she says. “We all work to serve the university’s core interests of teaching and research and it’s time the board and senior administration did as well.”
