Cameron Doig is heading back to prison. The former Seaforth golf pro had his appeal of a previous conviction denied by the Ontario Court of Appeal on Tuesday.

Doig was convicted in September 2022, of sexual offences involving a teenage girl that he taught lessons to at the golf course he and his family own in Seaforth. He was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.

After serving a portion of that sentence, Doig was released from custody while he appealed his conviction. He has been living in Seaforth since April 2023 while he awaiting word on his appeal application.

That word came down on Tuesday when the Ontario Court of Appeal denied his application to appeal, sending him back to jail to serve out the balance of his 3.5 year sentence.

Doig is currently facing two other separate charges of indecent assault on a female for alleged historical sexual offences dating back more than 30 years.
