The Mayor of Chatsworth has declared a state of emergency in that township.
Provincial police say several homes have been evacuated and a portion of Highway 6 is closed in Williamsford due to flooding. Williamsford is about 15 minutes south of Owen Sound.
Police are also asking residents in the McCollough Lake are to evacuate as a precaution.
Highway 6 is closed from Chatsworth Side Road 5/Walker Side Road, south to Chatsworth Road 24.
Emergency crews are on scene and hydro has been turned off in the area as a precaution.
The Williamsford Community Centre is serving as an evacuation centre for those affected by the flood.
Southwestern Ontario has been soaked over the past week with several heavy rains and storms.
Many conservation authorities have issued flood watches and warnings, and several communities are experiencing localized flooding in low lying areas.
