A confrontation with a man inside a bank led to the assault of two London police officers in the north end of the city on Tuesday.

That afternoon at 4:30, police responded to reports of a man that was causing a disturbance in the establishment in the 1900-block of Hyde Park Road.

Police responded to the business, and upon their arrival the man was asked to leave. He then threw an object in the direction of two police officers.

Police say they then attempted to place the man under arrest, and he resisted – grabbing at their equipment and assaulting them.

Additional officers responded to assist, and the man was arrested – when searched, he was found to have ID on him that didn’t belong to him.

The 38-year-old man now faces two charges of assaulting and disarming a peace officer, two charges of assault of a peace officer with a weapon, resisting arrest, and identity theft.
